Le coq intelligent - The smart rooster

A story about a very smart rooster and a hungry fox.

On a large farm lived a very diverse group of animals. There were pigs, chickens, cows and sheep. But there was one animal that stood out from all the others, it was the rooster, which was renowned for its great intelligence.

One day a hungry fox came to the farm, looking for its next prey. He noticed the clever rooster and began to devise a plan to capture him.

The fox approached the rooster and said, “My dear friend, I heard that you are the smartest animal on the farm. I would like to learn from you and become wiser”.

The rooster immediately understood that the fox did not want to learn anything, but rather eat it. So he replied, “Of course, I would be happy to share my wisdom with you. But before that, I have to go and get my glasses”.

The fox, who had never heard of rooster glasses, was puzzled but agreed to wait for him.

The rooster then ran to the chicken coop, warned all the hens of the danger and urged them to hide. Then he came back to see the fox and said, "I'm sorry, but I realized I left my glasses somewhere in the henhouse. I'm sure you understand”.

The fox, not wanting to appear ignorant, acquiesced to his request and waited patiently for the rooster to return with his glasses. But the rooster had already saved the hens and hid in a safe place.

The fox finally realized he had been tricked and ran away from the farm, hungry but respectful of the rooster's intelligence.

And from that day the rooster was considered the smartest of all, having managed to deceive a fox with his ingenious cunning.
