Cuc Phuong National Park trip

From the 6th to 8th November, I went on a school trip with my senior year to Cuc Phuong national park.

This was a service trip, so we did a lot of volunteer work for the different organizations around the national park. We spent 2 sessions building a portable enclosure for primates at the rescue center, so that they have more capacity to hold endangered primates. The process involved putting together steel nets and drilling them into frames, which was quite challenging and physically taxing.

Next, we visited the bear sanctuary, which work to rescue bears that are held captive by people to harvest bear bile illegally. I was impressed to see the size and effort put in by the wonderful people there to help recover and give the bears a better life. Here, we made toys for the bears that enrich them and help them learn skills.

Finally, we visited the deer sanctuary, and I helped by doing the paint work on the cages doors. Despite each activity being very tiring and repetitive, it was worth it in the end because we were contributing to rescue animals and ensure Vietnam keeps its biodiversity.

Overall, this was a great trip. I will remember this trip forever.
